Equipped with cutting-edge fabrication machinery, our fabrication shop is one of the most advanced stone facilities in the New England region. Our kitchen countertop fabrication process is collaborative with clients and our dedicated stone team helps guide clients through the entire granite countertop fabrication process.

What is Granite Countertop Fabrication?

Granite countertop fabrication is the process of cutting large slabs of granite into usable surfaces. At Metropolitan we cut granite on cutting edge machinery in our fabrication shop. All pieces are then hand-polished for beautiful finished results.

What Can Fabricated Granite Be Used For?

Granite can be used for kitchen countertops, bathroom vanity tops, shower pieces and more. As one of the strongest natural stone options, granite is ideal for busy family kitchens and spaces that are high volume traffic. With good care, granite countertops can look great for several decades!

Granite is also beautiful for fireplace surrounds to complement wood mantels.

Another popular place for granite is office reception desks and entryways.

How Do You Maintain Granite Countertops?

Granite is a low-maintenance stone. Use of a wet sponge or paper towel is sufficient to keep granite countertops clean and tidy throughout the day. At the end of the day, a quick spray and wipe of the most heavily used areas with a stone cleaner will adequately clean, disinfect and protect your granite countertops.

How Do You Find a Granite Countertop Fabrication Shop?

Most stone fabrication shops will be able to fabricate granite.

Many people find their granite countertop fabricator as referrals from stone vendors, like Marble and Granite or Boston Granite Exchange. Stone vendors supply slabs of stone, but do not fabricate (cut). If a client picks out granite at a stone vendor location, then they also need a fabricator to turn the slab into a usable product.

Other times friends and contractors can suggest a granite countertop fabricator. Reach out to one of our 4 locations to find out more about our fabrication process.
