What is Inset?
Inset cabinet doors are set into the cabinet frame and fit flush with the face of the cabinet when closed. Door hinges can either be concealed or exposed, and currently we are getting requests almost exclusively for concealed hinges on cabinet doors.
At Metropolitan, our inset cabinet doors are beveled on the edges so they fit into the cabinet frame smoothly. A more expensive option than overlay cabinets, inset is an investment.
3 Beautiful Inset Styles
1. Slab Door Inset
Featuring a slab door with inset cabinetry creates a modern-transitional hybrid style. The traditional elements of framed cabinetry get modernized when paired with sleek slab doors. With no detailing on the cabinet doors, this style presents a very clean appearance. Fun accessories, including gold hardware or a full-height stone backsplash, really pop against the simplistic cabinetry.
2. Farmhouse Open Drawers
These walnut open drawers add a big dose of elegance and style to an all-white kitchen. Playing off the modern farmhouse trend, open wood drawers bring a bit of country charm to a transitional or traditional kitchen.
3. Intricate Home Bar
To produce an upscale vibe, this bar incorporated inset doors with mullions. Intricate details on mullion doors add sophistication to any space. This spot is the perfect place to entertain at home, for hosting guests or family.
